Sarah and Phil met Edward in Kenya when Sarah was volunteering at the school where Edward was the deputy head teacher. Edward had a dream…to build a school for disadvantaged children in his home town of Kokoth Kateng in Western Kenya. When Sarah and Phil learnt more about his dream, it touched their hearts. The more they learned about the extreme poverty in that area and gaps in the educational system, the more they wanted to help change this situation.

♦ You are four more times likely to be unemployed – most of the educated people leave the community to find work in cities, while others scratch out a living from the land or by weaving baskets sold in the local markets. |
♦ You are 11 times more likely to have HIV/AIDS – leaving single parents or grandparents to raise young children with no education. |
